Art for the Asking: 60 Years of the Graphic Arts Loan Collection

The GALC Catalogs and Posters

Before the Graphic Arts Loan Collection went online in 2008, catalogs were created each term with a list of prints that patrons could check out. Prints could only be checked out for one term, and since new prints were being added throughout the year, the catalog needed constant updates. At the beginning of each academic year, the prints were displayed in the Morrison Library for a week before they could be selected by students; a nominal fee ranging from $1 to $2.25 was charged. In addition to the catalogs, posters were designed and produced to promote the GALC and these events. This case contains GALC catalogs and posters from the 1960s and 1970s. During this time the UC Berkeley campus was on the quarter system.
