Sergio Sánchez Santamaría was born in Tlayacapan, Morelos, Mexico, in 1976. A muralist, illustrator, and printmaker, Sánchez Santamaría is the heir of the Taller de Gráfica Popular (TGP) print collective. Themes explored include Mexican traditional topics such as the Mexican Revolution, folktales, indigeneity and myth, urban and rural landscaping, Calaveras (social and political commentary), and the Day of the Dead.
