Brushes
- Description:
- Several types and sizes of brushes are needed for various repair procedures. Both flat and round natural bristle brushes of different widths and circumferences are used for applying adhesive. A short-bristled stencil brush made with deer hair is used to gently but firmly tamp down a mend after pasting to ensure firm contact between the repair strip and the surface being mended. Very fine-pointed sable watercolor brushes (as small as 1/64 of an inch) are used to insert paste into tiny areas, or in situations where only a very small amount of paste or water should be applied. And soft goat-hair dusting brushes help with brushing dirt off of the surface of paper or accumulated debris out of the gutters of books.
