Tip-in

Description:
A “tip-in” is when a page from a book is adhered in place. For example, when a small number of pages are detached or missing, the original page or a photocopy are “tipped in” using a small amount of polyvinyl acetate (PVA), a pH-neutral white glue, on the edge of the page, and carefully placing it in the volume. The page can then be trimmed with a scalpel or a sanding block to make it even with the rest of the text block.
