Description:
Don Francisco de Quevedo was a high-level character during the Spanish Golden Age. His complex literary vision, sometimes sublime and spiritual and at others, biting and picaresque, has transcended time, reaching us in numerous texts. In the Consultation of the Cats written around 1606, our author manifests a strong critical sense towards the society of his time since the cats, identified with their owners, dialogue mocking their habits and customs. This text gives us the possibility of playing, through the engraving with these felines contrasting playfully the Quevedian romance with the image of the cats. -- Translated and abbreviated from book artist's preface.
