It symbolizes the feudalism as it existed during the Porfirio Diaz's long regime. The mural depicts on one side of the panel poverty of the Campesinos that were exploited by the landowners or Caudillos. On the other side, it shows the image of General Porfirio Diaz as a godfather of the nation surrounded by his wife and confidants. This mural depicts the state of Mexican society at the end of 19th century Mexico. Juan O'Gorman was a Mexican painter and architect. The image copyright belongs to Museo Nacional de Historia.
