¡Viva la Revolución Mexicana: 1920-2020!

Literature

In his article Novela de la Revolución in Enciclopedia de la Literatura en México, José Luis Martínez alludes to the fact that there were precursors to the Mexican Revolutionary Novels such as Tomóchic (1892) of Heriberto Frías, Emilio Rabasa's La Bola (1887) and others. He goes on further and provides information about the evolution of the genre and its effect on society at large. I believe that the genre of revolutionary novels continues to this day. There were several other novels that were published during the PRI administration such as La mascota de Pancho Villa; eposodios de la revolución mexicana, and others. Below are some of the photos of the novels from UC Berkeley Library's collections.
