Sarita Henderson (pictured, top left) was the first woman to be named editor of The Daily Californian. Marguerite Higgins (pictured, top right) was a well-known war correspondent; she covered World War II, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars. She shared a Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 1951 with five other reporters.

Max Boot is a well-known conservative columnist who has written for The Washington Post, The New York Times, Newsweek, The Wall Street Journal, and The Christian Science Monitor, among others; he has also published six books.

Darrin Bell won the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning. His strip, “Candorville,” appears in over 100 American newspapers and grew out of a Daily Californian comic strip called “Lemont Brown.”
