N7433.4.R585 D54 2023 (Only one copy was produced) Description: Artist book consisting of shoe box-size carton with metal pull ring, decorated with collage of portraits, drawing, torn scraps of letters, blue tape with lettering; it encloses 10 numbered, artfully aged envelopes with Cuban stamps and a handwritten introductory card; the first names of letter writers and recipients encircle the lip of the lid in black block-letters: "Fina a Lezama, Lezama a Dulce, Dulce a Virgilio, Virgilio a Gastón, Gastón [cut off]"; interspersed between names are stamped red hands pointing and spelling 'devuelvase'; the enclosed letters are typed on coarse-grain tan paper with pasted-on handwritten signatures on torn scraps of white paper. Each specimen is handmade with small variations and thus unique.
