Passage par terre a la Californie

- Description:
- The myth of California as an island was put to rest with Fr. Eusebio Francisco Kino’s exploration of the region, near the confluence of the Gila and Colorado Rivers, where he observed that the mountains on the west continued south into the California peninsula. A handmade version of this map accompanied a report of his observations.
