- Description:
- This map includes Texas, which had been admitted into the U.S. in 1845, along with the territories of Missouri, California, and Oregon. The state of Texas extends to the upper Rio Grande into what is now New Mexico. The map also includes the important emigration route from Missouri to Oregon, with a table in the lower left indicating the stops along the routes with mileage. It was used by Brigham Young, who had a number of copies, as he led a group of Latter-day Saints to Salt Lake City.
