Date:

Description:
This wonderfully illustrated map of Baja California and the western coast of the Mexican mainland, generally attributed to Miguel Venegas, draws on the work of missionaries Eusebio Francisco Kino and Fernando Consag to show the extent of the evangelization efforts of the Jesuits around the Gulf of California. Together with the various missions and presidios of the region, the map shows the names of the Indigenous inhabitants. The map forms part of Miguel Venegas's Noticia de California.
