Materials used for storage, such as boxes, folders, and envelopes, must be carefully selected. If storage materials such as papers and plastics used to make envelopes and folders, for example, do not adhere to specific requirements, they can impart stains, cause discoloration, and even lead to embrittlement of the collections.
