Collections
The CLIR Moving Images from Environmental Movements in the West project contains a selection of 130 films that highlight issues of environmental preservation, climate change, and land conservation, and feature key players in environmental movements in the West. The project digitized selected moving images from Bancroft's vast collection by focusing on titles that were unique to Bancroft and were considered physically at risk. Redwood (1936)

"The world's supply of commercial redwood lies in a fog-bathed belt adjacent to California's northern coast line. Commercial redwood (sequoia sempervirens) differs in fibre, foliage, and habits of growth, from the "big trees" of the high Sierra." Film explains the process of cutting and preparing the wood.
Nature Next Door (1960)
Demonstrates the importance of ready access to natural land and wild creatures for children, especially in areas near cities, includes an exploratory trip through Tilden Regional Park near San Francisco.
