Digitization Guidelines
The films in this collection were digitized by The Media Preserve, located in Pennsylvania. Bancroft worked closely with the vendor to ensure that all digitally reformatted film followed best practices and guidelines for digitized audiovisual materials provided by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP), now the California Revealed (CA-R) project. All 8mm and 16mm were transferred in high definition and videotapes were captured in standard definition, maintaining the original aspect ratios. Many films chosen for digitization are unique and camera originals.
